Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Typically when I visit the forums I start by clicking on Active Topics to catch up on what has been said since my last visit. Often when I finish reading a post and then click the back button, I am sent to only those Active Topics that became active from the time I began my current visit; the Active Topics from all the way back to my previous visit disappear. Does this happen to anyone else? Is it something that can be fixed?

Thank you.

Peace,
Nancy

Nancy-

This is caused by your session timing out between the time you start reading the post and the time you return to the Active Topics page.

Here is a good (tho not perfect) solution:

If there are multiple pages of Active Topics, open each in a new window. In Internet Explorer, you can hold down the Shift key while clicking the "Next" page link at the bottom. In IE7, you can hold down Control and Shift while clicking the link to open the next page in a new tab. I am not sure what the corresponding shortcuts are for Firefox or other browsers, but you ought to be able to accomplish the same result by right-clicking on the link and choosing the appropriate option from the context menu that appears.

Then, when you want to read a particular post/thread, do the same thing when clicking on its link.

In this way, you never "lose" the original Active Topics window(s), even if your session times out.

For an explanation of sessions, see my reply on this thread.
