Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi Ladies!
We have just recently joined a local catholic homeschool group, and we have a bi-monthly "nature club." This week, we are suposed to bring a "bug box." Is that just those clear boxes with a magnified top? I've seen them in catalogues and online, but any suggestions where I could get them at a retail shop?

That's what I call a bug box. You can get them in nature center gift shops, in "nature packs" at most toy stores (with a net and maybe some other junk), or you can get them at a mall, in a discovery store or some place like that.

If you don't have a bug box, use a zip lock bag, and float a bead of water on the outside of the bag as a magnifier. Or use a hand-lens. Small jars with holes in the lid work well, too...goodness, when I was a kid, that's all we used! My grandmother never tossed anything out, so when we needed a jar for grasshoppers or fireflies, or whatever , there were always plenty.
