We have the achiever model for our dc and they LOVE it! They are young and too much magnification doesn't make a lot of sense to them. Neither does the time it takes to make slides, etc. We just pick up bugs and other things from outside or even household items and look at them under the microscope. It is awesome!
We did buy the microscope from GreatScopes and they really are a good, helpful company. I'm sure we'll use them again when we're ready to upgrade to a "real" (read greater magnification) microscope.
