Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Sarah is 11 years old, and she brings smiles to my face every day by something she says!

She had a guinea pig, Pippin, for two and a half years, who died about a month ago. It was during that really long heat wave here, and Pippin just couldn't handle it. He lived a good guinea pig life. I do miss that little critter some days though.

Anyway, we have had this really cute little baby bunny out in front of our house eating off of our lawn every day. He was such a tiny thing when we first saw him, probably after his mommy left him to grow to be a grown up bunny. We live on a very busy street too!

Anyway, he is quite the bold little bunny, not phased even by the barking dogs, barking loudly (a beagle and cocker spaniel) from the window. In fact, he even sometimes ANTAGONIZES them by staying there to graze, knowing they can't get to him!

So of course, we named him PETER!

Anyway, this bunny is often sitting by the car door as we come out to leave, and he just doesn't even feel like moving, so sits there eating until he absolutely MUST move because we're just a wee bit too close. It's really quite funny! We even call, *Hi Peter!* when he's eating out on the lawn and he just sits there, and looks as if he understands.

Anyway, today, when Sarah and I went out to go to her guitar lesson, he stood there, by the car this time (I almost thought he wanted to go with us!). He hopped away when I started to step toward the driver door where he was after putting the guitar in the trunk. Then Sarah said, *Mom, maybe God gave us Peter Bunny so we could still have a pet rodent.*

She may just be right!
