Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We have 4 chrysalis for an anise swallowtail. We collected the caterpillars form my fennel plants. Well, they have been chrysalis for over 1 month. does anyone know how long they are in this stage? I have checked them and they are still soft and pliable. I read on one sight that if you suspect they are dead, you pinch them in the middle, if they stay pinched, they are dead.
Well, last weekend we found 2 new caterpillars chowing down on our willow tree. We captured them and yesterday one of them made his chrysalis. It is quite beautiful.
It is a Viceroy, which mimics the Monarch.
We are having a great time watching these but of course, ds is getting impatient waiting for the butterflies to arrive!

Thanks!
