Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Trip pointed out a sparrows nest that is at eye level when he is in his loft bed, right outside his window, in the holly tree.

Apparently, he has been telling me about it for couple of weeks, but it just went in one ear and out the other...is it just me, or should we all pay more attention to our children's discoveries?

Too much kitchen, and not enough outdoors, I guess!

Then again, sometimes you might want to take a nature discovery with a grain of salt.

One morning, a couple of years ago, Margaret (about 5 at the time) was adamantly telling me about a bat she had seen outside her bedroom window that night. She told a riveting tale of how she had seen him up close and detailed all his behaviors, ending with an account of him perching on the branch outside her window.

Perching?

I questioned the account a bit more and, within minutes, we both realized it had been a dream!!!

You'll have to post a picture of Trip's sparrows, by the way! What a great opportunity for observation.
