Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I tried to search the archives but didn't come up with anything related.

I'm trying to find a good beginners telescope. Any recommendations or beware of? Thanks!

I don't know what your budget is, but this is what we are saving up to buy. It is a great one for kids because the viewing area is large. It can be $20 cheaper if you don't have the tripod, but it won't be as stable either. We have a cheaper version from Walmart and you just can't get enough magnification for it to be effective.

Thanks, the Orion was on another list I found. But I don't think I'm ready to spend that much...yet Maybe if this first one works out, I'll come back to it.

I have also been reading to stay clear of department store or toy shop options.

I'm thinking about this Celestron. I read that Celestron is good brand as far as telescopes go
