Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I noticed this resource listed on a MODG booklist and wondered if anyone on here has used it. Would you recommend it for a 1st grade boy?

Thanks!

We are using the three books that are available from OLVS. One of my daughter likes them, another one did not like them so much, and my son liked them fine. I don't teach reading and writing until first grade so my children weren't able to read the first one by themselves in first grade. After that they had no problems reading them themselves, though.

My son really enjoys them - he's a strong reader so I can't say anything about reading-level appropriateness :)

When my boys were in first and second grade, I read these aloud. They absolutely loved them and I credit them with giving my boys a great love of nature. It gave them a desire to learn more.
