Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I want to share info about a science curriculum that my children and I have done in the past. You can read about it here: Super Charge Science E-Curriculum

Aurora is a REAL rocket scientist and home schooling mother. She has a very "4 real" perspective on teaching science to children by showing the students what to do and what to expect, followed by their doing it.

My children and I participated in one of her teleclasses. We had the pleasure of listening to Aurora live and working alongside to do experiments with her, including Alka-Seltzer rockets and slingshot airplanes!   What FUN! My kids just LOVE doing science that way and have sought out to do their "own" experiments as a result. I highly recommend her curriculum!

Can you tell us how this fit into your average school day- time-wise?

Can you do it at your own pace or are a lot of the classes live?

It does look fun!

I scheduled it in to the afternoon once or twice a week. She provides a "shopping list" of common materials to have on hand prior to watching the video so you can do the experiments alongside her videos.(The videos are not very long either.)

Hope this helps.

What sorts of books were recommended , if even, for supplemental learning on topics? And I haven found on the site, but for instance she has the topic of electricity listed. is there just one video for this, or several? I guess I'm asking is there a lot to choose from?

If you visit this link, you will see more about the program. (Scroll down and click "our detailed e-Science and information page" link.)

The syllabus and breakdown of each class by video, experiments, readings, and exercises are laid out in 15 units. She also offers teleclasses (either live where your kids can interact OR at the website afterwards) to supplement the lessons. VERY WELL laid out, in my opinion.

Supercharged Science is giving away a collection of their most popular videos and experiments for *free*.

These had only been available for people who were enrolled in their private e-Science online science curriculum. Because they were so popular, they put them together into a new product, the "Science Activity Manual and Video Collection".

I have been enjoying much of Aurora's free stuff and decided to do the e-science curriculum with my kiddos since her methods are just SO "real."

Just wanted to share ...

You're welcome! Even though it's not "officially" our new school year, we are starting the fun NOW! (We school year-round anyway, so we're not waiting!)

My kids are interested in robots right now, so we are starting with Electric and Robots. :-)

I wish science was like this when *I* was in school. I never enjoyed it (or history) until I started home schooling 16 years ago!
