Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was reading old posts regarding a Biology Spine book. MacBeth recommended Experiences in Biology. They have a new edition called Exploring Experiences in Biology. I was just wondering if this was just as good or if I should pay more for the older edition. Or maybe someone knows of something better!

We used the old edition and liked it. Very user-friendly for homeschoolers but it doesn't contain much extra info. You will need to supplement the labs with library books or something else.

I haven't seen the new edition but I found an excerpt online. Comparing the two, it looks like most of the material is the same. The line drawings in the new manual are much better than in the old, and the layout of the material is a bit different. Here is a review. Hope that helps!

Janette,

I've had way too much sugar! I meant to say...MacBeth recommended The Way Life Works as a spine. The new one is Exploring the Way Life Works. I wondered if it was basically the same or if I should go after the old one. We might supplement it with Experiences in Biology for the lab. If anyone has any suggestions regarding a Biology spine book I would appreciate it.

I think, also on a way too sugared brain!, that Exploring the Way Life Works is more like a text than the Way Life Works. I think they meet different needs!

LOL Is that why my brain doesn't work right -- too much sugar?? It would sure make sense!

Well, I have no input on The Way Life Works. I think we borrowed it through ILL but I don't remember much about it. Had it for a very short time. Glad Kristie could respond.
