Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We've brought the great prehistoric outdoors inside, and are raising some triops. We're having a grand time with them and are especially delighted that we didn't lose all the eggs when our 3 yo opened the container at an inopportune time.

You can check out Triops.com to see the creatures. (We bought ours at Hobby Lobby, though.) Ours are still tiny. We're hoping we don't kill them before they get big enough to see a bit better!

This is satisfying the "sea monkey" craving I always had as a kid ... a craving my mother never gave in to. When I was 9, I so wanted to see king of the sea monkeys perched on a rock, just as he was depicted in the ad.

Oh, Karen, we raised Triops a few years back and also Sea Monkeys.   Didn't have those cute smiling faces though .   It was fun.... I should try it again for the recent 10yo who really wants a pet --- of his very own -- besides the cat and dog we already have

We love Triops. We liked them better than sea monkeys (they are bigger as they mature). From Triops, you can move on to horseshoe crabs .

Last year my husband requested sea monkeys for Christmas. He always wanted them, so his "KK" got them for him. It satisfied a longing he had since his childhood!
