Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My 3.5 year old is very interested in both learning her letters and fairies.

I thought I would use some of the Alphabet Path, although don't think she is ready for most of it.

What I think I will do is teach her letters using Alphabet Fairy book and Saint book.

My 5 year old loves nature and thought I would do a short botany lesson with each flower in the fairy book.

So, I am looking for a good book on flowers. I would like a good picture of the flower and short description. Ideally I would like a good that has all the flowers from the Alphabet fairy book in it.

Any ideas?

Hopefully someone will have a book suggestion for you, however, what I did is just do a search on the flower and print up a picture and short description for each letter that corresponded with the Alphabet fairies. All the books that I found were too advanced for my 4 year old/preschool kids and probably even too advanced for my now 7 year old. Plus, I'm cheap and didn't want to spend $$ on a book, and I also wanted to find one that matched Serendipity/Alphabet fairies.

It is too bad that the Flower Fairies site took down the botanical information portion. It was really helpful and corresponded exactly! My 9 year old dd wrote them an e-mail last September asking them about it, and they said that they would look into adding it back, but as of a couple of weeks ago, they still hadn't.

Andie, mom to dd (9) dd (7) ds (4) and home preschool teacher to 3!

hmmm, I might end up doing the same thing with the internet.

I would like to find a book so I could have some really good pictures, but I guess if we print out pictures from the internet we can put them in our storybook.

The Flower Alphabet Book is a really lovely book for combining alphabet and flower study. It doesn't necessarily have the ones from the flower fairy books though, but thought I'd throw out the suggestion.

It's not a book, but Eboo's Alphabet Cards might be perfect for this, too.
