Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

is anyone participating in this? (blackout tonight at 8:30 pm?)
I read that it is to raise awareness about global warming, which I find amusing as we sit here in IL in a horrible ice, soon to be up to 6 forcasted inches of snow...storm...
although I'm all about reducing out own home energy useage..

After hearing what our electric bill was last month (almost $400!), maybe we should have participated just to save a buck, but it was life as usual here ... kids chatting with grandparents on Skype while Thomas the Train blared on in the background, heater and lights running, space heaters in the kids' rooms .... we like electricity.

We had a wonderful flashlight walk down to the beach to see what we could see in the water at night. It was great and we plan on doing it again very soon!
