For those of you who use textbooks for science with your highschoolers, what do you recommend, give the thumbs down on?

Dd15, has requested a science text, she enjoys having the questions at the end of a chapter. She enjoys a more living approach, although doesn't mind a more textbook approach. Although one program I purchased (the one used in our local schools) she disliked as it was too skimmy.

The one I was going to purchase is too dear, the postage costs more than the book. I'm now doing a mad scramble.

Love to hear thoughts.
