Ack! Ick!

One of the places we lived in AZ was an apartment complex where there was oragnge groves all around.

Sarah was *just* learning to walk. Shortly after we moved in, I was playing with her on the floor, laying on my back and flying her over me. I looked above my head for some reason. Big ol' scorpion. This New-Jersey-born-and-raised-city-girl about DIED on the spot, and screamed my head off.

That apartment ended up having a LOT of scorpions. We moved as soon as the lease was up.

Hate 'em. ick!

You are a brave woman to keep them and use them for science. I am impressed!

That is a lot! We have had maybe 3 in the house; we tried to keep 2 to watch,but they didn't live long (you think that 2 boys passing the jar back and forth may have been a factor??) We have been lucky enough not to have had anyone stung...I know they are not really dangerous, but I would not be happy to be stung (or have someone stung) in bed! Have fun with them!

For one who freaks

at the sight of a spider, I was wondering if there is some sort of scorpion pest control service?

You ladies are way braver than me! These (venomous animals) are a major reason I would not want to move out of MI. Really!

BTW, my boys think the pictures are "awesome!"
