We're headed out today for the first camping trip of the spring. We'll be gone until Thursday afternoon. I can't wait to wake up in the woods! In Louisiana, we really only have a few weeks left until it is too hot. We have a cool spell these next two days and it will be in the fifties in the evenings, so we decided to take advantage and loaded up the camping gear last night. It'll be our first trip with our new huge tent and I'm excited!
Anyone else camping this spring/summer? Wanna share favorite camping recipes/activities/stories?
Macbeth was my camping inspiration long ago when I was a reluctant camper...now 8 years, four kids, and five countries later....well, I'll try just about anything for 48 hours .

Here are two fun recipes we'll try this time around:
Ice Cream Cone Smores:
Place broken chocolate bar in the bottom of a waffle style ice cream cone. Roast marshmallow and place in cone. Add more chocolate (or a peanut butter cup!) on top.

Orange Cinnamon Rolls:
Cut orange about 1/3 way down and hollow out top and bottom. Coat canned biscuit dough in cinnamon and sugar and stuff inside orange. Add biscuits until full (2 or 3). Place top on orange in cover with foil. Place in hot coals for 20-30 minutes to cook. Yummy orange flavored rolls when done!
