Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We just spent almost 4 yrs enjoying the beautiful view of the ocean in Washington. We went to the beach weekly and the mountains at least 1x per month. It was heaven on earth! I was in love with the location.
For my DH's job we were relocated to Iowa (our home state) just a few weeks ago in the dead of winter and snow. Certainly a huge change in views and recreation!

I was really frustrated at first because I really wanted to stay in WA. But our family is here so I knew it was good for our kids in the big picture.

We specifically searched for an acreage to enjoy the beauty of the countryside and we were lucky to find 3 acres in the country on a large creek surrounded by mature trees.

Despite the 1 ft + of snow the last few weeks the views are incredible! We see wild turkeys and quail daily, an eagle flies overhead each day and has a nest about a mile away, and the creek flowing by is such a beautiful thing to watch. The white background lets you see so many details of the mature oaks and the many bright red cardinals. I know the spring will be even more gorgeous.

I still miss my beach walks and mountains but at least I can enjoy what I have and see things that I would never have seen in WA in my area-like wild turkeys, cardinals, and a winding creek outside my window.

It just goes to show that you can have beautiful views no matter where you are-you just have to be open to seeing them
