Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Anyone ever done this?

this

We plan on doing it for the first time this year. We did the Mystery Class project last year (Lissa has blogged about it).

This looks like fun too! I can't wait to have a whole school year with Journey North!

We did this two years ago and the kids really enjoyed it. They liked making their own monarch to send to Mexico and they were so happy to get monarchs back in the spring. They had forgotten all about it and so it was a lot of fun when "butterflies" returned from Mexico.
We tag monarchs every year through Monarch Watch at the University of Kansas. We have not had a monarch recovered in Mexico as of yet so this was nice for the kids to experience the monarchs going to Mexico and Monarchs returning.
It is my understanding you can go online and report your the butterflies you receive in the fall so that other classes can know where their butterflies ended up.
Have Fun!!
