Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone seen March of the Penguins?

The trailer looks fabulous (I was sniffling and smiling at just the trailer!) and the USCCB Review was good.

If you've seen it I'm curious what you thought...

We plan to go on Thursday. I am hoping the kids like it.
The trailer looked wonderful.

I'll let you know what we all think. We were planning on seeing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory but then decided to wait for the video.

What's the word on this movie?? Any stressful parts that a sensitive child would mind seeing?

Thanks!

My children enjoyed it and learned a great deal about penguins. There are a couple of scenes that might upset a sensitive child:

--a mother penguin gets eaten by a manatee. The narrator adds that her chick will not survive because the father will have to leave it if the mother doesn't return.

--a huge albatross comes to harass the penguins. After several attempts, he manages to get a hold of a penguin chick and eat it.

--one or two of the eggs and chicks are shown succumbing to the elements.

--an old penguin dies.

That's all I can remember. Overall though, it was a very tame movie.

A friend brought their one child (she's 4, I think) and he complained that it was *just a documentary* and very boring.

Remember...hsers view documentaries very differently than others.

So don't bring your child if you're looking for a fun, family-entertainment movie; only if you plan to study penguins this year.

That being said...we haven't seen it. Will probably wait for the DVD to come out.
