Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I hope I have posted the question in the proper forum.

Our family has started a Blessed Mother garden-area. We all have different ideas about what kind of statue we want to place there.
I am hoping you ladies have ideas, resources and photos to help us make our decision.
Thank you!!

I have not found a statue I like. I love the old fashioned cement ones, but can't seem to find them any more.

I miss the cement ones too. Where I grew up they were the norm and very affordable. I've had to settle for what I can afford. We got ours from Catholic Supply in St. Louis.

I like to brag about mine......we have a 5'marble statue we got for free.   There is a thread somewhere on these forums about her. Jenn can you link to it? I know Jeannette or Tim posted her picture.

Check Freecycle, Craigslist, and local flea markets and antique stores. I know several families who have found some real beauties this way.

I have a friend who found a 2' Our Lady of Guadalupe at Wal-Mart. She was only 50.00 and quite nice for a Wal-Mart product.

We have found nice Guadalupe, OL-Grace and st. francis at those "garden-statuary" stores......where they sell fountains and cement and stone benches, etc. VERY reasonable prices; we were very surpised.

We have one from Terry's Village that we really like. Hopefully this link will work:

Blessed Virgin Mary

If not, go to Terry's Village and do a search for Blessed Virgin.

Even though we live in the South, which heavily protestant, esp evangelical, our local Ace Hardware sells Mary and St. Francis statues, even had a Sacred heart last month! I've been holding out b/c we're moving in a few weeks, don't need something heavy to worry about breaking LOL! But I want to do a Mary garden in our new home.
