Well, my sister found out yesterday that there is cancer growing again in her brain. She is going to go on ANOTHER drug trial at NIH. Ugh. (some history here and here
God has formed me these last 2 years of her illness into knowing His plan, not mine, is the best. (This is actually something good that I already know has come out of her illness) I know my plans pale in comparison to his, but it is still SO HARD.
My sister has been steeping herself in "name it; claim it" teachings and at least partially blames herself that she is not healed. She told me today of people that she has met that prayed others back from the dead. I asked her why the dead would want to come back if they were in heaven (she's not Catholic, so no purgatory). She said she didn't know - maybe it wasn't their time. I asked her how we know if it's someone's "time" or not. She didn't know, of course!
She has always spent time doing a Bible devotion every morning and she is not now. She wants to get back to it, but she is also feeling like she is losing her faith. I tried to gently talk to her about how prayer is supposed to conform our will to God's not change His will to ours. (edited for clarity - it sounded backwards  i hope it doesn't now)
Please pray for me to have the words she needs. And please pray for her.

Jen,
I am so sorry. I will pray for your sister. My brother has cancer (he is clear right now), and he has lost his faith. I will pray for you to find the words, I wish I had them myself.
