My dd has had anxiety issues most of her life..I finally just sent her off for the first time to drive herself to work. She has not been able to drive alone, yet. She is fine even if her 13 yo sister is with her. She was crying and is really mad at me...but she did leave. Please pray she is safe and will have some courage after this. I am expecting a call around 11:30pm for dh and I to go help her get home...not sure what to do ...I have an uncle that has not been able to drive alone now for about 30 yrs.
I wish she was still in counseling for added support.
She is definitely a melancholy anyway...I recently read to her some quotes and one was "you just have to throw the melancholy in the water and she will learn to swim"
God Bless you all and prayers for other posters going up most everyday.

Praying it goes well with your daughter. It can be hard to know how to handle these situations.

Oh, Tammy, I know this is hard for you. ...and the poor dear..........I have two melancholics......I am always shoving one in the water, and she usually does just fine, and is even now starting to throw herself in the water (woud you believe this is Anne I am talking about?)....but my other one cannot be thrown in water......she has to be raised differently. She is my parenting test ......and boy do I fail a lot, MY poor dear Mine is a mild case compared to all you have had to go through with your dd, so, I will offer up all of my little crosses related to MY situation, for YOUR situation.
Keep us updated. I am really proud of you.
now.......to get my oldest melancholic driving
btw, my youngest melancholic is planning to live here forever.......we told her it was okay, and she has been more relaxed ever since

Dear Tammy -
It is sooo hard to know just what to do! And it is harder when the person doesn't react well to what you do do. These are some real challenges. The love you have for your daughter is apparent; sometimes love doesn't feel comfortable, though.
Praying for you all. We also have some issues of this sort in our family; believe me, I know what you are talking about. Hang in there.
Peace,
Nancy

Praying for Noelle! Poor girl. And poor you! Trust your instincts as her mom, you are so good at that. You have so much on your plate these days. I am sure it is hard to find the quiet to really reach inside and feel at peace with your decisions. But Noelle has been through so much, I am sure she will get over this hurdle.
Prayers and hugs!!

Dear Tammy,
I'm so sorry Noelle is going through this. I know all about anxiety attacks. It is the worst feeling ever. I will offer up Mass and our family Rosary for both of you this morning. Ask her to pray to St. Michael. That's what Bernie does when he has them, and he has them often He also says the holy name of Jesus over and over again until he feels better.
Take care of your self. You are such an inspiration to all of us. You've been such a blessing to me. I wish I could see you more often. God bless you both.

She did it!!! and off to work this morning, too
Thank you... thank you!
She came in before 11:30. I was up watch a movie about Padre Pio. In she came and tried to avoid me...I just grabbed and hugged anyway and told her how proud I was of her. I told her that it was so hard for me to push her and that I was just fine with her being mad if it helped her do it! and that I love her...then we were able to start chatting
