It has been one year since Missy died in child birth with her fifth child. She died of an amniotic embolism during the C-section.    The baby was born healthy. Her name is Melissa Kate.

Missy was a Christian homeschooling mother who was very active in the internet community.

I'm sure her family needs our prayers for Thursday and our continued prayers for her children and husband, Tom.

I understand one daughter is having a particularly hard time.

It would be good if we can lift this family up in prayers and love.

If you go to Christy's blog you can see a couple of pictures of the family and an opportunity to partake in a day of Heartschooling in honor of Missey.

Just bumping so as many people as we can will pray for her family on this sorrowful day. And happy day too.

I can't even imagine what kind of emotions they are going through today.

I know that they have a very strong family support system. We can thank God for that and pray that Missy & Tom's family can continue with their help. A true testimony to the word "family"

If you go to Missy's blog, be sure to read her entry around December. In it she mentions how she is not schooling for the month and how she wants to pack the month full of hugs, and good memories.

I think what she wrote so simply and eloquently is the essence of why many of us chose to homeschool in the first place. Her untimely death puts it all in perspective.

Her words were truly a gift.
