Would you please offer a prayer for Aaron. We had him in the ER last night after finding a very engorged deer tick on the back of his head. It was apparent that the tick had been there awhile, and Aaron had a low grade fever.

Being an avid Animal Planet fan, he sometimes knows a little too much. He’s very concerned that he now has Lyme disease, and given the events at our home recently, he thinks he is "probably going to die." (I heard him crying in his room several nights ago after I put him to bed. The cat sleeps with Aaron and while he was petting him, he found a tick on the cat. He began to cry because he figured the cat would get Lyme disease.)

Anyway, he is just beside himself with fear. Please say a little prayer that his fear subsides and he can relax. Poor little guy.

Oh Donna, your poor little guy. We will be praying for Aaron - both his physical and spiritual comfort.

As you know, my husband has Lyme disease. But we didn't get around to detecting it until months after he'd been bitten. Since you got that tick right away he will surely be fine. Did they offer to put Aaron on antibiotics as a precaution against infection?

Yes. I asked them to since he had a slight fever.

We will certainly pray for him. My kids worry way to much about this sort of thing, since I've had friends who have passed away recently. Ask him to keep praying to St. Michael. Say the prayer outloud to him over and over again.

Would it help for him to know that DD#2 had a perfect bull's eye red spot and she took antibiotics and is fine now?
He knows her well and sees that she is okay.We do not know that she even had a fever.

He is such a wonderful "nature boy", it is hard to think that he is shadowed by fears. Whenyou think about it, he is incredibly brave in his nature pursuits when he has these fears.

I think his fear is coming from our recent miscarrage and Jacob's de*th. And, also, Steve Irwin's passing. He realizes that things don't always turn out the way we want them to. These losses are always on his mind. He said to me the other night, "Mom, I prayed to God to send us a new baby, this time an alive one."

Praying for Aaron, Donna. And tell him that my brothers and sisters and I had about nine million tick bites when we were growing up---with no problem, so a tick bite doesn't have to mean anything serious, poor little guy.

Thanks, everyone for your prayers. He still has a low grade fever and the lump on his head where the tick was is still quite noticeable. He comes to me and asks me to check his head every morning to be sure there is no rash, but at least his fears have subsided. I think all the stories of others with tick bites have helped him .

I'm sure he'll be fine.
