A 4 yo boy choked while he was vomiting and died October 29th. The autopsy done on him confirmed that he had viral meningitis. His mother did my hair for our wedding. The family is very close to my sister's family. In fact, my sister was this boy's godmother. And Roseann, Samuel's mom, was my niece's Confirmation sponsor the very day he died.
Also, our deacon died in his sleep this past week. He was very old and had many health issues. I didn't know him well because we are relatively new to this state and this parish.
And one more (sorry for all this sadness one on top of the other, ladies. It's been quite a weekend). A friend of my parents' wife died. His first wife died when they were only in their late 40s. I hope he can accept this and live with it. She had leukemia. It seems it was just discovered and then she had major issues with it. I thought leukemia was more of a childhood disease. 
I'm quite sure the 4 yo sped to heaven. Not sure about the others, but they were both decent people, trying to live God's way in this world. I'd like to ask for prayers for their souls, that they reach heaven speedily. But it's often the people who are left behind who need the power of prayer to help them carry on and not fall into despair. So I'd also, perhaps even especially, like to pray for the families of those who passed away, that they may find solace in their families, their friends, and their faith.

We are praying here Tina.
Is Samuel's last name Nosacek? I just read about a 4 year old named Samuel who died unexpectedly after a short illness - they thought it was the flu or something. I am wondering if this is the same family or if two 4 year olds named Samuel died in the same week.

Yes, Krisann, it is. Sometimes, the Lord just shocks me into gratitude for the health of my family, even my extended family. The story on this thread is another incredible reminder.
I'm having mass said on November 22nd for the repose of the souls of these people. It would be wonderful if you all could pray for them the day before Thanksgiving.
And I thank you for all your prayers.
