Would you please pray for my husband, Rick? He just left for the ER at 4:30am est with horrible lower ab pains. He had the same thing Sunday night into Monday, but Tuesday morning was dancing around like usual. Then a few hours ago they recurred and he's in excrutiating pain again. We can't figure it out and since it has recurred he's getting it checked out asap. Thanks so much.

ETA a quick update: He just called (5:30am) to say that they're doing a CT scan. Could be appendicitis or diverticulitis. Thanks for all prayers.

Well, we're back and it looks like gallstones. I'm not quite sure what that is, but I know it hurts! There were some diverticuli, too, but the gallstones were the primary find. We followup with our primary care tomorrow.

Of course I wish my dh was not in pain, but I am glad for the opportunity for a complete workup. He had a heart scare 1 1/2 years ago and his dad has all sorts of physical ailments (so I worry about dh more), and my dh is not one to go for routine checkups.

Ouch! Yes, gallstones *do* hurt. Fortunately, removing a gallbladder is an "easy" surgery, doesn't require too much downtime, and should take care of the problem. I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago.
