I am asking for prayers for a friend's 6 yo ds tomorrow.

He was born with a spinal tumor (tethered spine), and so far has defied the odds for this type of condition. He should be in a wheel chair, but he is not- jumps around like a cute little monkey, takes karate, etc. You would never know from looking at him that there is a thing wrong with him.

However, as he grows, so does the tumor, and the surgery tomorrow is to try to debulk it and prevent further problems, which are starting to creep up on him.

There is a chance that he might lose mobility or other key functions as a result of the surgery... such a tough situation. He will be kept immobile for 5 days post-op, and then once he is awake and alert again, the doctors will know if he can still walk.

This is such a cross for his parents- making these hard choices and trying to decide what is best.

Please keep this family in your prayers! The surgery is at 8 AM EST tomorrow and will last about 5 hours.
