Dear Sisters,
Stephanie would like to thank everyone for their continued prayers for Peter and her entire family. She also has a special request that could help cheer her children and communicate to them all our support of her family. Stephanie writes:
Quote:
Dear Friends,
Thank you ever so much for all your prayers. It is extremely comforting to know that people are praying for Peter and for us. I have a request. Peter has been in ICU for 3 weeks and they have done everything they can for him. Now he needs to move to a acute brain rehab facility. The only facility right now that will take Peter in his limited condition and with a ventilator is about 6 hours from us in Mount Vernon, MO. That means that I will have to leave the rest of the children and move into a dorm next to the facility. This news has severely saddened 2 of my children to the point of constant tears. I am trying my best to figure out how to lessen this separation. Although my husband will be home, I will be gone at least for 6 weeks, maybe more. It's tough, because Peter needs me, but so do my other 6 children still at home. So…would anyone like to have their children write a letter to some of my children? They could tell them about themselves, their hobbies, and that they are praying for Peter and our family. I won't be here to see that they respond or know if they do, but getting something in the mail might help them. I know the kids love to run down our gravel lane to see what the mailman brought.
Thank you so much! It looks like I will leave with Peter on Wednesday. He will go by ambulance and I will follow in my car. I can't tell you how much this means to me. It is heart-wrenching to leave the children for so long. I am just forcing myself not to dwell on it.
Blessings,
Stephanie

Stephanie-
My kids would be glad to write to yours. I have a boy 11 and a girl 9.
We are keeping up the prayers for your family during this hard time. Peter is never far from my thoughts. Where there is life, there is hope

Absolutely! I will pm you, Caroline. We used the Ronald MacDonald house a lot for meals or to freshen up during all our stays this past year even though the hospital was in our city. I can't imagine how hard this is for Stephanie and her family. Still praying.
