Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

She started itching on Sun morning and I didn't think much of it until later in the day when she had hives all behind her ears and down her neck and back and then Mon AM down her chest. We went to dr. and they figure it's a viral even though she really hasn't been sick. She had just 99 temp at dr. so for her that's kinda low grade. She said Mon her throat kinda hurt (neg strep), head kinda hurt and nose kinda stopped up. She just never gets sick.

She did go in a friend's hot tub Fri night. She did dance in 30 degree weather last Tues and then in a couple of retirement ctrs that tend to be pretty hot last week so just trying to figure it out. She's never had any allergies of any kind. ??

She felt better yesterday and today and I've been giving her 2 diff antihistamines which has greatly helped the itching but they're still there and it's end of day 4 now. :-(

So, if you could please pray for Valerie to have some relief and healing I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Praying now!

I'd head back to the doc if she doesn't feel better tomorrow...just so you have some remedies to try as Christmas approaches...

My dancer got a sinus infection over Christmas last year and we spent most of the day 12/26 at an urgent care place...in retrospect, I should have badgered her doctor a few days before Christmas, as all the symptoms were there.

A heat rash would not last 4 days. I am guessing something else is going on.

I like giving vitamin C for mystery hives.. it helps reduce the symptoms of allergies and often is all that we need here.

The doc diagnosed viral infection b/c her throat was a little read and slightly swollen nodes. In hindsight she had a headache several days last week so now I'm thinking maybe she was fighting something last week and this is the after effect esp from the exposure to extreme cold and then heat w/ a lowered immune system. ?? From what I read, hives usu. disappear within 24 hours but CAN come/go last for weeks! The antihistamine is helping the itch but it looks awful and she's been embarrassed to go to dance although really unless you are THAT close to her (or she's rubbed them)you don't see them.

I did buy her a vit c booster that she started taking yesterday.

Yes- hives can linger forever... or go away and then come back in a day or two or a week or two. Throw in a virus, and they all do whatever they want.

Keep up the antihistamine... lots of rest... praying they will go and stay away!
