Fuzzy, Jenn's sister, checking in to let you know that the surgery went really well! She is out, did NOT need her valve replaced and she is doing well.
They tested her gradient that was above 90 before surgery, now it is at zero. They measured 17 millimeters of obstruction and the average is 10mm. This should be a one time fix for this problem.
Thank you, thank you for all the prayers!! Out Lady took good care of us all today. God is Good!!!
Evening Update: The breathing tube came out earlier than expected, which was really good news. Unfortunately, they were having trouble controlling her pain. And, if you know my sister, she is SUPER strong when it comes to pain, so if she is saying it's a "8-9" level, it's a big deal. Her husband Dave said even though she is sleeping on the new medicine, he is with her in the ICU, holding her hand, and feeling the prayers.
(My apologies if I am not as eloquent or thorough as Jenn. It's a big task to fill in!)
Saturday 12/14:Saturday 12/14: Jenn is out of ICU as of yesterday, and has all the wires and tubes out except the pain IV. She is sitting up in a chair and eating! She spoke to her sons on the phone yesterday, and her 6yo told me that she had a frog in her throat. My 5yo asked if was a bullfrog? And he said, nope. Just an ordinary frog!
If anyone is interested in a room number or anything, please PM me (Fuzzy). We are so happy to get good news each time we hear from her husband! And Angie Mc, you are NOT the only one who shed tears of joy!
Monday Update:Monday update: Jenn had some AFibs (the heart is racing, I think) on Saturday, which the doctors were able to calm and slow down the heart rate. The doctors said it was normal, and were not worried, though it was scary and exhausting for Jenn. Unfortunately, she has had more today. Asking for some prayers today to help her through this ad to find a solution.
From her DH: "Jenn is having a rough day. Another bought with Afib after they gave her a medicine for an echocardiogram that makes the heart race. Afib means back on IVs and all the tethering. Internal and external pain was higher this AM. They got that somewhat controlled now. These pain meds are harsh and cannot be used continually so you have to switch them around."
If her heart does not calm down, she may have another procedure tomorrow morning. Jenn is really discouraged, especially because she probably won't be discharged tomorrow, as hoped.
Please say some prayers for her.
Wednesday 12/18:12/18 - Jenn had a good day with no AFibs AND a shower yesterday! I got to FaceTime with her last night and she really looks good, though she is in pain.
The best news is that he should be leaving the hospital today a going to a hotel nearby that is hospital/hotel-like. Thank you for the continued prayers!!
