Dear 4Real friends, I prayed for your intentions in four Montreal churches this week...the church of Our Lady, Queen of the World, the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Old Montreal, the pilgrimage chapel founded by St. Marguerite Bourgeoys and the Oratory of St. Joseph, founded by Saint (Brother) Andre Bessette.
Expect miracles, because I have already received one.
One of our dear friends (whom you have been praying for, thank you!) has been out of work for months. He was within hours of being hired by the federal government when the sequestration order came down, and his hiring letter was rescinded.
Yesterday, my husband and I climbed the hill behind Montreal and then trudged to the Oratory of St. Joseph. It was a chilly and sometimes painful walk, but my father told me that this was a church I had to visit, so we persisted.
Outside, the Oratory is enormous and traditional in appearance. Pilgrims climb a special staircase on their knees, in prayer, hoping for the intercession of St. Joseph and Saint Brother Andre. Inside...it's modern, but not in a displeasing way. I was a bit surprised, but we headed to the Blessed Sacrament altar and I began to pray.
In Montreal, churches have pencils, paper and a drop box where visitors can place their written prayer intentions, and I included the intentions of our members here and the job intention for my friend.
This morning we found out that the permission to hire our friend for the job he could not get before arrived - you guessed it - yesterday! I was overwhelmed by this news...as you might guess, I burst into tears - of joy!
Thank you, St. Joseph, for favors rendered, and thank You, Heavenly Father, for answering this important prayer intention!
Please join me in praying for our 4Real family through the intercession of St. Joseph, who knows just what it is like to struggle through the everyday while living in the hope of Heaven.

I have been to two of the churches you visited, Nancy, while on our honeymoon. Well, our true honeymoon was to Old Quebec and then we attended a conference in Montreal with other friends, but visited the Oratory and the Cathedral while there.
You are sweet and amazing to pray for all of our intentions. I am trying to pray to St. Joseph more when praying for my husband.
Thank you!
Wonderful news about your friend!

Oh Nancy, such blessed news ~ what an inspiring trip you had! May God continue to work miracles of grace in the life of your friend, and all those you pray for and hold dear.
It has long been a dream of ours to visit the Oratory of St. Joseph and the Shrine of St. Anne de Beaupre. Until then, it is such a blessing to be able to send prayer petitions to the Oratory of St. Joseph and Shrine of St. Anne de Beaupre. Thanks be to God for the intercession of all His holy saints!

OH, Nancy, thank you for this, and your story is WONDERFUL!!!
Coincidentally, I was doing a 9 hour novena to St. Joseph that day as well, for an urgent personal intention.
Still awaiting our miracle….

Well, my turn to add a story. We've been praying for my sister and her family to be able to find a house, they've been staying with friends and family while looking (at least 3 months!). After you posted this Nancy, we went to a swim meet in another town over the weekend so we attended Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church. TODAY they got word that they've got a house and will be able to move in soon. They should be coming here in about a week to pick up the majority of their household items.

We live in upstate NY and go to Montreal every few years. We love to stay in Old Montreal and wander through the cobblestone streets. It has a very European feel.
We have been to St. Joseph's Oratory many times and have also traveled north to St. Anne de Beaupre'. The basilica there at St. Anne's is one of the prettiest I have ever seen. Another beautiful place not too far from there is Our Lady of the Cape
Loved your story, Nancy. We, too, have seen first hand the miracles St. Joseph is working through St. Br. Andre.
