This past year we sent our 7th grade son to a local private Catholic school. There are a few boys in his class who are very worldly and in my opinion very bad influences.
Well today I found very explicit, graphic and xxxx rated content on my iPad
I am so upset about this. He admits he found these sites through his classmates. And has been visiting them regularly for quite a while.
I just don't know how to deal with this.
I know we need prayers...a lot of them.
Dad turned off all access to the Internet and we will be heading to confession tomorrow
I hate to say it again ladies, but we sure do need your prayers again.

I have no advice - sounds like you have done what I would do - but I'll be praying.

How disheartening. I'm so sorry. Will pray. I have a 6th grade boy that would be just the kind to follow the "worldly" boys. They have to have such an extreme level of supervision. Prayers and encouragement.

I would certainly bring this to the attention of the teacher/principal. Sounds like it's time for some straight talk with the kids and their parents. I know that at the Catholic schools (3) that my kids attended, that kind of behavior was unacceptable.
Praying for your son.

Praying for your son as he struggles with such detrimental influences. Praying for you and dh as you discern how best to handle the situation and help your son.

How painful! I have been praying for you, Joann, and will continue to lift you up adding this specific intention to my prayers. May the Holy Spirit guide you all and may He touch your son and give him strength. May our mother, Mary, guide your words and send you the graces her Son has for you to carry this heavy cross.

Joann,
I will pray for you. I did want to point out to everyone that it just isn't boys who go to school. I know someone whose 16 year old homeschooled boy is struggling with the same thing. Our priests who work with many homeschooled boys, say that hear it a lot in the confessional. It is very common in all boys and men. Part of the reason is because it is so easy to get. If they have cell phones with internet access (which is nearly all phones now), they can get to it whether you have a blocker or not. Unlike a PC, on a phone all they have to do is download a new browser and can find it. Cell phones only catch stuff on the one browser that was originally on the phone.

May God give you wisdom, and help this to get nipped in the bud before it becomes a life-long habit that will affect all those in his life, especially a future wife and children!

Joann, you got this! Praise God you are intervening early! Let your son know that he is 100% responsible for his behavior. 100%! Do not let him think for one second that anyone else made him do this. Surely, you can deal in private with whatever influences happened here but the key is to KEEP THE HEAT ON YOUR SON FOR HIS OWN SAKE!
Also, while I know you won't minimize the problem, try not to maximize it either. I know this is hard but there is no reason to project into the future right now. Just take care of today as thoroughly as possible. Then tomorrow the same things. Etc. Try not to be too shocked (because while it is unfortunate, the odds are that many boys his age stumble into such rot.) So be disappointed and stern. Try really, really, hard to not be hurt. As a woman, your reaction is very important. Come from a place of strength as in, "I will not allow you to disrespect women in such a way. I'm a woman and I expect to be treated with respect at all times. Your future wife will expect the same thing. Women are people, not objects. All the time,, under all circumstances." Then, let the men in his life handle it.
Praying
Love,

Angie and the other ladies said it so well...praying for your son and for you and your husband. It is very important that ALL mothers and fathers are aware that this can happen in the home or where ever else and to be as diligent as possible...
Again...praying
