Just a small request for prayers that a head to toe rash/hives will end soon. It is getting hard to bear. Have tried to think what could be causing it, but have come up short, not seeing any changes in diet, environment, etc. that could be causing it. My chest is particularly rashy/itchy and it is getting hard to bear. I feel as though I have an AWFUL case of the chicken pox. I have had a rash like this 2 other times in the last year, lasting 3-4 months the first time, so I know it will eventually go away, just waiting for it to do so is hard to endure, especially all over the chest while nursing a sweet baby.

Could it be shingles? My father-in-law is suffering from his second bout of shingles in less than a year and his description is similar to yours, possibly worse.

I had thought of shingles, but it doesn't have the blistering like shingles would, it's more rash-like.

My dd's godmother has this...but has had it for more than a year. She has seen some of the top specialists in the field...if you would like me to put you in touch with her, I can...
She just entered the convent in November but has access to email for short periods of time.

My daughter has an odd rash/hives we have been dealing with for a few months now. The doc put her on a daily dose of 1 zyrtec a day, and it has done wonders! Just a thought. I assume it is o.k. to take that while nursing?
