My uncle Joseph, and god father, was hospitalized last week. He is in the final stages of cancer, which was previously undiagnosed. The hospital says there are only days left. I am driving tonight to go see him. Please pray for him, and me, so I can see him one last time.
On the upside, he got married on Saturday. He and his long time 'girlfriend' of 36 years finally agreed to marry him. She never wanted to before, and now at 81, she said it was the last thing she could do for him, as he always wanted to get married. So they got married. So I officially got a new auntie.

Thank you all for your continued prayers. I made the trip back home this afternoon. I was able to go and spend some time with my godfather alone. He has no fear of dying, but is very sad to be leaving his family. it is so incredibly hard. He is of sound mind, and still the jokester he's always been, he's all there, but the body is slowing.
I'm going to miss him so much.
I'm working on some family videos to show him in the morning before I go back to my family.

My uncle Joseph, passed away, Monday, November 12, 2012. He was 79 years old. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife - no children, and extremely loved by all. He was the adopted uncle to so many young people. We'll miss him so much!!

I'm sorry for your loss. Agree with Mary M....36 years? I thought I took a long time to make a decision.  May he rest in peace.

Thank you, all of you. Tomorrow we make the drive to attend the funeral. I don't know how I'll get through it. I insisted dh drive with us, I don't know how I'll be afterwards. It was so hard on the drive home after saying goodbye.
