My friend's son, recently diagnosed with Chiari 1, is having surgery Monday morning to alleviate the headaches, dizziness, etc. that he has been experiencing. He's missed almost a month of his senior year of high school already. The surgery is delicate, as the brain is involved, but all indications are that he is a good candidate for the procedure.
Please join me Monday morning as I storm Heaven for Andrew, his surgical team and his quick recovery. He will be at one of the best hospitals in the country, but, as you can imagine, this is a scary time for him and his family...and for all of the people Andrew has touched in his young life who will be worrying about him Monday and during his recovery. He's an outstanding altar server, pianist, soccer player and student...and he truly lives what he believes.
Thanks in advance for your prayers. Andrew is a former student of mine...as anyone who's taught in faith formation classes, Atrium, traditional school classrooms or anywhere else knows, once a child has entered your classroom, he's part yours. Thank you so much for praying with me!

UPDATE: Andrew is out of surgery and resting relatively comfortably. The procedure went well. He'll be in the hospital for several days, and he's in some pain, so please keep praying.
His mom tells me they could really feel the effects of everyone's prayers and she sends her gratitude.

UPDATE 9/27:
Andrew is home! He is in a lot of pain, but he can already tell that the surgery has helped to alleviate his Chiari-related symptoms. What a blessing! Thank you for keeping him in your prayers as he recovers.

This will be a special intention for me. My nephew had this surgery when he was 2yo. He is almost 5 now, and the surgery helped him immensely.

My little guy Pete has had two chiari surgeries. I am praying with great empathy for all Andrew and his family, especially his dear mama, who has a long day ahead of her. 
Nancy, keep us updated, and thanks for bringing this prayer request here.

Praying. One of our nieces had this surgery a few years ago and came through with flying colors. Praying for the same outcome for Andrew.
