Hi everyone,
Please pray for the following intentions with me:
1. My niece has had car trouble on her weekend road trip. Please pray that she gets home safely tomorrow (she is safe now, but must get her car fixed and make the four hour drive home).
2. Please pray for one of my former homeschool co-op students; he's suffering from severe headaches (he's missed a lot of school already) and has been diagnosed with a condition that affects his brain stem and may require surgery later.
3. My mother-in-law provides daily care support to two married friends and moral/emotional/logistical support to another friend. Please pray for my MIL, as she is in the middle of a crisis situation with the couple she helps out each day (the wife is apparently addicted to her painkillers, and can't/won't help get her bedridden husband his food and medicine each day) and is also trying to help her other friend, who's hard of hearing, living alone and worried about getting help should she fall or become ill. I know all of these friends personally, and they are very wonderful people, trying to age in place with varying degrees of success. In the case of the wife with the apparent addiction, prayers are needed on Wednesday, especially, because she has to meet with her doctor that day and no one knows whether she'll try to wean herself off with her doctor's help, or instead ask for more meds. It's all very sad. My MIL is trying to help without enabling, and she is strong enough to do that, but I know she'd appreciate your prayers. She doesn't go to church, but she is a true Christian and she certainly believes in the Communion of Saints, because she constantly asks her deceased husband and daughter to pray for her!
Thanks in advance for your prayers for my family and friends. Please know that I pray for your intentions regularly and remember them in a special way at Sunday Mass and at any time I am at Adoration or visiting a church/shrine/basilica.
