Francine, wife of our beloved Deacon Ed, died suddenly this past week. She was actively involved in many aspects of parish ministry, but her real dedication was (with her husband) to the homeless of Baltimore. She made sandwiches, offered a kind heart and active listening, gave away shoes (even the ones she wore), organized fundraisers and much more to help Christ's poor in a city plagued by poverty and homelessness.

Please pray for her soul and for her loving husband and children, who will miss her so much. Our parish family will miss her, too.

And, if you don't mind, please also pray for the homeless people in Baltimore - some of them have come forward to write tributes to her (that's how I know about the shoes) and they are planning to come to her funeral, too...a wonderful tribute to her love for them. We have so many homeless people who need so much love and help.

I've known Francine for many years and I'm sure her first thought would be for her homeless friends, for the fair trade farmers whose product she sold after Mass and for the poor and downtrodden of this world, not for her own soul. She was a very, very special person who touched many lives with her generous heart and friendly smile.
