He has all his life been dealing with one thing or another. He has/had extreme high levels of toxicity. We for 4 years did a detox on him. Things seemed better. We added food back in over a year period and all was ok. (this was found when he was 7 - detox done at 11).
Now he has other things showing up. Twitching, we have dealt with this before and thought it to be anxiety. Now we are wondering if it's a food allergy or maybe a very light form of tourretts. the 1st just makes him mad, the 2nd which i don't tell him about yet just scares me.
He has high levels of anxiety, sometimes (like me) OCD, and now a sudden issue with what others think of him, based not only on his actions but if his siblings do something he worries about what others think of him.
I pray for him, but am at a loss where to go. Dh tries to deal with it, but he usually just gets mad cause it's "not normal". We don't have insurance so running to a doctor, psychiatric doctor or the other all the time isn't in the books right now.
Please pray for my son, and us as we try to help him figure this out and calm these twitches which is very hard to watch.
Blessings
Misty

I'm praying...and there is actually a condition (benign muscular fasciculations - hope I spelled it right!) in which you twitch or shake for, well, no reason. My mom has it, and I do, too.
If your son is on meds, their interaction could also cause involuntary muscle twitches. This happened to my husband many years ago and it took a long time to find the cause and eliminate all residual meds from his body.

My son had twitches and at one point we were so worried it was so bad. We started giving him a magnesium and calcium supplement. It got worse if we talked about it or worried about it. So I quietly took a look at his diet and increased things that were higher and mag and calcium and backed off from the supplement. There were times when it would completely disappear but during stressful times reappear. His was more allergy induced too...like spring or fall when pollen was at its highest. He has seemed to have it lesson significantly as he has gone through puberty. Praying that you will see clearly so you can get to the bottom of this. Most importantly...I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but you want to make him feel he is normal...physically these twitches cannot be stopped by just "trying" not to do them. We tried as best as possbile to make the atmosphere as stress-free as possible. (I know at many times that is impossible..but keeping it to a minimum). I know my son is extra sensitive to how everyone feels. This in by no means professional advice..but maybe you can glean something that will be useful to you and your family. Keeping your son and family in my prayers.

My son has some involuntary movements, too. They were cute when he was little and seemed excited, but now that he is school-aged, they are concerning.
Praying that your son has some peace. Anxiety is so all-consuming.

Thanks everyone I appreciate all said mariB we also see many things that say cal/mag and we have given supps to help that. Our sons seem like they are the same symptoms. What age did your son seem to be able to deal better with it?
I try to make him feel normal but it's hard that at home he twitches etc and out and about no one would know it's even an issue. Seems like he can control it to some degree, but I believe it's all in the brain/mind.
If we say something and he tries to control it, it gets worse as I think I mentioned already.
Thanks for the prayers.
