dd11 is going to camp for five days this weekend. This is the first time we have done something like this. It is a dance camp, and I have known the teachers and the moms who are chaperones for eight years.(I signed up too late to go as a chaperone.) dd11 is so excited! I am proud of her for being so responsible and organized. I ask your prayers for her safety and that I will be able to let her go gracefully, and not fall apart in front of her. I want her to learn and have fun. Her bestie is going, and the bestie's mom is a chaperone. The mom is catholic and level-headed, knows martial arts, got new brakes on her vehicle, and I trust her to take care of my daughter as her own - which will be easy since the girls are joined at the hip! It sounds great, doesn't it? But it's my baby, KWIM?

Sending prayers...my dd is going away to dance camp too, starting Sunday, so I can totally empathize.

Sending prayers.. I haven't nor had the opportunity to let me sons (oldest will be 14 in Aug) go anywhere alone. Except grandparents.. I know how you feel. Sending prayers and safety her way.

Isn't it hard, letting them take these big steps, Michele? I only have boys, but I worried like crazy when the first went off for his first Boy Scout camping week! (My only solace was that ds's bff's dad was going, and he was a lifeguard and is a doctor!  )
I will definitely pray for your daughter, that she has safe travel and is safe and has fun at camp, and for you!

Isn't it comforting to know she is in good hands? Our oldest just got back from scout camp and we were so thankful for the amazing leaders that were with his group.
