Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Dear friends, if you could add one more intention to your prayer list I would appreciate it.

My oldest son (the one who didn't even read well until he was almost 13) is now 22 years old and almost done with a 10-month Paramedic training program. When he gets done he will be very employable and have a lot of job options. But he is struggling with toxicology and is on an academic probation. He has to pass his test on Tuesday or he will be terminated from the program.    If you could please pray that he could absorb the material and pass the test, I would be very grateful.

Thanks ladies. It didn't quite go our way but I'm sure God has a plan. The trick, as always, is to figure out what it is! Thanks for your prayers and encouragement.

Oh, Elena, what a heartache. I know your son will bounce back and either retake the course or find another path to the future he envisions, but for right now, this is hard.

May Our Lady and St. Joseph (whose feast day is today) pray for you and your family now and always, and hold up your son's future in their prayers to Our Lord.

Praying for your son as he considers his new future plans. God's plans are good, but it is hard for us to accept changes of direction when He asks that of us. Praying your son can trust in God and move forward joyfully.

Elena, I will continue to pray for your son, as he considers what to do next.
