Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We are on a roller coaster here! And it's been fun and exciting. I apologize if the post gets long.

A little background. I've been a lost soul for many many years . I've recently returned to my roots, and getting my spiritual house in order, and I can honestly say, I've never felt lighter in spirit. I thank God and Jesus for that! They've been suggesting it to me for years, I've finally been silent enough to hear it.

These last 8 or 9 months, I've attended the RCIA adapted for children with my youngest 2. Despite have 4 kids in sports, we had minimal conflict, and only 1 child missed one day due to being out of town, and each child had 1 sick day.

This Easter Vigil, my youngest 2 were baptized, confirmed and received First Holy Communion. It was a wonderful day. They are so excited. The changes in the eldest of the 2 in RCIA has been incredible. As a victim of extreme bullying, she has been withdrawn, scared of groups, we've made progress in the 2 years of home schooling, but her time in the RCIA program, with the care and understanding of Sr. and the seminarians, she has really bloomed. I think she has forgiven her bullies now, as she is growing. She spoke at Easter Vigil. Then out of the blue, she wanted to go on Easter to Teen Mass. We were all exhausted after Easter Vigil, so she decided to wait a week to check it out. She went today and loved it. She also stayed for their Life Teen program. She VOLUNTARILY put herself in a GROUP SITUATION. Praise God! She came home, not only excited about Mass, but about the youth group afterward. She is planning for next Sunday already. God Bless the wonderful people running these programs.

Now, the reason for the post. Today, my eldest daughter(15) decided to come to church with me this morning. To "check it out". Likely because her younger sisters are excited to go.

She came, she sang all the hymns, recited all the prayers, was appropriately reverent. She shrugged her shoulders when we got home, said it was kinda 'boring'. Then she found out there was a teen service, and was curious. She wasn't home in time to go to Mass with her younger sister. Her brother dropped her off and she attended the last 15 minutes of Mass, she really enjoyed it, then she attended the youth group, which she loved. She able to speak to a seminarian, engaged in conversation with Fr. who answered several questions for her and others.

Tonight she asked me if I could speak to Sr. about her attending the RCIA!!!

She has been in a Catholic school from the beginning, she is familiar and already comfortable in the environment. She is Christian by her own admission.

We have willing and excited godparents, all I need to do is ask. I looked at this past years Calendar, and she'd have had only 2 conflicts for the year.

So I'm asking for prayers for her, so that she may move forward in her conversion, that like this year, she has minimal, or even better, no conflicts so that she can join her sisters and I. (And if you don't mind praying for dh and ds17, that they see the light of Christ and join the her in the RCIA program, I'd really appreciate it).

This last year I have so much to be grateful for, and having her want to become Catholic is so unexpected and I'm so joyful to have heard her say so. I did ask her to join her sisters this year, but she was reluctant, and she's at the age where she'd be sullen and really frustrating to have pushed her into it. Now, that she is asking me to get it started, is SO much better :) I'm up for another 9 months :) I would love to.

Thank you so much!

It is an honor to pray for your family, especially for your daughter as she begins this lifelong journey.

I spoke with Sr. Cornelia and dd15 has aged out of her class, but she is calling the Archdiocese as we haven't had anyone younger than about 30 in the RCIA in many years, so she is hoping to get an exception for her, or an alternate solution, attend the children's class and a supplementary class with Sr afterwards to go more in depth.

I'm praying for a suitable solution, as dd15 is not wanting to be with adults when there are no young adults or teens in the group.

Hoping to hear back in the next week or so.

Thank you for all the prayers!!! Excited to update a little, dd15 is now attending Mass with her younger sister during the evening Teen Mass and attending the youth group. She's inviting friends for next week!!

I am praying she is still feeling it in the fall when the RCIA starts.
