Dear friends
My mother passed away peacefully on Friday after a horrific fall which occurred on the Solemnity of St. Joseph. She was able to receive the sacraments and to wear the Brown Scapular.
We gathered around her in her last moments praying the Mercy Chaplet and the Rosary. She took her last breath with the last prayer.
It has been a big shock to our family. My children are very sad.
The wake is today and the funeral is tomorrow.

Oh Helen, you and your family are in our prayers. So hard to lose a parent, yet it sounds like a truly holy death.

Oh, Helen....I am so sorry for this profound loss! Those last prayers at a loved one's side are so powerful and mysterious. The prayers of the Rosary become so compelling...."now and at the hour of our death"....when they are prayed with such earnest sincerity at the very hour of death. Thanks be to God we have such a rich deposit of prayers!
I join my prayers to all the other generous prayers offered here for the repose of the soul of your mother, and especially for your children and your family. It is such a profound and deep loss to lose someone close in your family, and it does significantly affect the children for some time. I will pray in a special way for the children, and for your own mother's heart as you both mourn and help them through their suffering.
During this Holy Week, may Our Lady's Sorrowful Heart at the foot of the cross, provide a refuge for your own suffering and loss. And may your mom's soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace.

I am so saddened to read of your deep loss, Helen. You and your family are in my prayers during this Holy Week. May you experience the consoling nearness of God and find hope in the certainty of the Resurrection of the dead as you grieve. Mother Mary, embrace this your daughter and pray for her and her family. Dear Father, may the soul of Helen's mother, through Your great mercy, rest in peace, rejoicing always in Your beauty.

Helen, I am so sorry to hear such heartbreaking news! Our Lord seems to be holding you all close to Him this lent. May He and our Blessed Mother give your whole family strength and peace. How beautiful that your mother passed surrounded by prayers, her family and the sacraments. May the Lord bring her quickly to Him.
