I just got a notice today that if we don't catch up our late mortgage payments we will be losing the house.....I don't have any idea what to do?? Right now I am scared and asking for prayers....there is no way we can catch up the payments right now, even if we stopped eating...

Oh my I'm so sorry! I will be praying but do call the mortgage company and ask them to help. I read in the paper Sunday that banks are being much better about doing loan modifications and helping people to keep their homes.

Oh, Joann! I'm so sorry you and your husband must face this. I am praying that with some communication with the mortgage company and serious brainstorming you and your husband will be able to figure out a way to work through this.

Praying! Stay in touch with the mortgage company and when they ask for documents...send them right away to show that you are willing to work with them. We came so close to going into foreclosure about a year ago. We were able to repay everything and made our financial situation better despite dh getting a pay cut. Hang in there and pray! We spent much time before the Blessed Sacrament and praying the Mary Undoer of Knots Novena
God worked wonders with our family during that time even when we felt at our lowest...looking back we can see his hand over us!
We will pray for you all!!

I have several friends who have been able to modify their loans so there is hope! The key seems to be to keep calling and talking and calling and talking until you get to the right people who can help. It's a real test of stamina, being thick-skinned, reasonable, and courteous. My one friend saw it as a part time job!
