Christian is being confirmed tonight. Please pray for him. I'm having a really  day today (I'm sure I did way too much this weekend and I'm paying dearly now). Please pray I can get upright and that I don't miss this night.

Praying. I KNOW that nausea. Nothing helps. Hang in there. In my pregnancies the first months felt horrible, then just bad.

I went. Not sure I felt well enough to really "enjoy" it but I didn't pass out. It's been a long haul to get here with this child. He was profoundly affected by the poor decisions a priest made in parish we left and it rocked his world and made him seriously question the authoritative structure of the Church. He's a very spiritual kid, a quiet child, a deep thinker. When he said "I do" to the renewal of baptismal promises and then went up to the bishop to get sealed, it was not lightly taken. But he did it!  And we're both so glad he did. I'm really glad I was there...

Awesome Elizabeth -- for those of you who haven't experienced this yet, watching your children confirm their fiath is an amazing thing.
We were so blessed to have Joe confirmed by Cardinal Schoenborn at my dh's graduation from the Austrian program. It was amazing to see how grown up he was at that moment -- his teenage-ness has come out occasionally since, but we definitely see glimpses of spiritual and mental maturity. Cate has also been confirmed, with her favorite cousin flying in from Colorado to sponsor her.
As a parent, it's a feeling that's hard to beat!
