Ladies, I don't even know where to start. I feel so overwhelmed. We have owned two houses for more than a year and money is tight. I have started a home business selling Discovery Toys and it has been a pretty slow start. I do think things will be OK. I hope so since we really need the money. My husband has been working terrible hours and all of his free time is spent working on one of the two houses. Maintaining two houses is hard work, especially since both are on several acres and have TONS of trees and TONS of leaves.
I know I am called to homeschool. I love it. Today was a great day in our homeschool. I just feel like sometimes I just can't handle it all. My husband came home sick today (he ate a piece of bacon that had gone bad we think). Anyway, I am at the end of my rope. While I was trying to clean the kitchen, John Paul knocked Dominic down (on accident). He was bleeding from his mouth. None of his teeth are loose, but they don't look "right." Anyway, I completely lost it. I just feel so on edge.
I see my friends send their kids to school and have all day with a baby or alone and I just can see how nice that would be sometimes. I am not thinking about quitting homeschooling. It is what God has called me to, but I just don't know how to handle all of this stress. Maybe I just needed to vent. Sorry to write a novel. I knew you all would understand. We all have these kind of days with littles...and I only have 3!

activated charcoal might help your dh's tummy.. I've heard it works real well for food poisoning related issues
and mouths never look quite right with blood in/on them.. and the swelling. I've had to get blood out of the shoulders of my shirts more times than I can count.. why does a child with a bloody mouth want a hug and to put their mouth on my shoulder first thing anyway?

Kristin, I know exactly how you feel, but I also understand how strongly you feel called to homeschool. It's a trade-off. You can't devote 100% of time to your baby, it is true - but even at his young age he is learning how to interact with other people in addition to his important and special relationship with you.
We've done the pay for/maintain two houses thing - we were blessed with decent tenants, most of the time we were away from our house, but we did have some rough times when we handled two house payments, maintenance, etc. I know this is not easy. Please know that you're in my prayers, and I will be asking other people to pray for you, too.
Bad days happen. When I was young, we were taught to offer them up, and it's only recently that I have learned to go back to that teaching and really acknowledge that my bad days and difficult times might be worth offering up for someone else, whether it might be a person I know or the person in Purgatory who needs my prayers on that particular day. No suffering is in vain. No request is too small.
I will be praying for you and your family as you work through these stressful issues and find your way back to financial stability.

Praying for you. We too have done the owning-two-houses routine, and I know how hard that is, all by itself. And I've also had days of thinking, "There's a school right up the street . . . peace-filled days could be mine . . . ," except that bitter experience tells me that's not true. Still, sometimes . . . I know that temptation well!
Again, offering my day for you and everyone on the list (I so seldom respond to the prayer list, because I so seldom have anything to say, other than "Praying." But I am praying for all of you daily.)
God bless you and ease your burdens.
Sally

Thanks for all your prayers, ladies. It turns out that this is a 24-hour bug and I now have it. I started throwing up around 2am. I guess that is why I felt so overwhelmed...I was doing it all and I was getting sick. Please continue your prayers. I was up almost all night and my husband is working today. I don't know how I am going to get through the day taking take of my kids while I continue to get sick. Thanks!

Prayers as you struggle through this day, and through this difficult time. May Our Lady and the Angels occupy your children and keep them peaceful and positive today while you try to get through this and recover!
