I'm taking my 5yo daughter in tomorrow morning for a food challenge for her peanut allergy. First and foremost, please pray that she doesn't have an anaphylactic reaction--the doctor thinks it will go smoothly, which is why he suggested the challenge in the first place, but she had a very scary anaphlactic response to tree nuts a year or so ago that we do not want to relive. Thank you!

Update: My daughter woke up with a runny nose and sore throat this morning, so her allergist required us to postpone the test. We rescheduled for two weeks from now. Thank you all for the prayers!

Praying for you. We have done 2 of those challenges (milk and eggs) and both turned out great. Be at peace that if she does have a reaction that they stand at the ready to take care of it. My poor ds has had 5 reactions (careless people make me crazy!) in his life and he has always been fine. Paying the ER fees not so great!

Just wanted to pop back in: the rescheduled food challenge is tomorrow morning and my daughter isn't showing any signs of illness this time, so we should be good to go! Now for the hard part...

Oh, praying for you with great empathy. We went through this this spring. We were just at the allergist's office yesterday, getting tested. No improvements, so no food challenge in the near future.

Thank you so much for the prayers! Everything went great this morning--she passed with no problems. We'll be monitoring her through the afternoon, but the allergist said that with peanuts in particular, reactions usually show up within minutes of the first dose, so we should be in the clear. I really appreciate your praying for my daughter today--she was actually quite nervous the first time we went in but was much calmer this morning...and of course, she is very pleased now that she can have peanut butter sandwiches!
