My mother, Jean Conway, has been hospitalized since Tuesday afternoon. She has had COPD for 20+ years. In May she started to retain fluid and and has been on a downward spiral. She crashed on Tuesday with a pulse ox of 76 (should be at least 90 for someone with COPD), her carbon dioxide blood levels were way too high, plus there was fluid in her lungs.

She has now been diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure, Cor Pulmonale to be exact. She is not takine the news well at all and her anxiety has really kicked in and is causing more breathing issues.

Plus they are talking about sending her a rehab facility when she is discaharged and she is refusing at this moment. She really needs to go to build back up her strength and learn to manage her new medical conditions.
