Ladies, I have spent many hours praying about this and I am just not able to find an answer so I am turning to you for help. My sister and I have a difficult relationship. She is the type of person that everyone thinks is perfect, but actually, deep down, she is not a nice person at all. We have had a lot of problems over the years. I really want healing in this relationship, but I just don't know how to go about this. Every time I talk to her, she will make comments about how I am not as good of a person or a mother as she is. I have gotten to the point where I just ignore her calls because I can't deal with it. This isn't how I want things to be. Can you please pray for me in this area? I want so badly to have a great relationship with her.

Something you might keep in mind.. when someone puts other people down it is rarely about anyone but the person speaking.
In other words.. it's not about you or your parenting.. but that she's insecure about herself and if she can "prove" she's better than you then she feels better.
Sometimes if instead of being defensive, you ignore the jabs and speak to a guess of what might be bothering them.. giving them compliments (honest ones!) instead returning jab for jab.. you can change the pattern of communication. But if nothing else.. you can choose to be compassionate for something that is bothering her enough that to feel better she has to put others down.
