Following unexpected complications from vein surgery, my nieces' grandmother (not my MIL, but their father's mother) is on life support with only a 50% possibility of recovery. My nieces have already endured the loss of their own mother, and I know this is very difficult for them. Please pray for everyone involved.

Update 5/19: Things aren't as bad as my niece led me to believe; her grandmother is in a medically-induced semi-coma so she won't move around and displace the artificial veins that were inserted. She's on a ventilator, too, so things are serious, but the doctors put her in this state to assist the healing process. Please continue to pray; the extended family is in turmoil over all of this.

Glad to read that it is not quite as bad as you thought at first. I'm sure seeing her grandmother in this state must be so frightening for your niece. I can certainly understand how she felt it was very serious and dangerous. I will contInue to pray for the grandmother's complete healing.

Things have taken a terrible turn for the worse. It looks as though my brother-in-law will have to decide whether to take his mom off life support within the next day or so.

Please keep praying. This is going to be a hard week for my nieces and their extended family.
