Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Did I get your attention with the subject line? I feel like this is so small compared to other needs, but I could use some prayers for resolution of a problem with the accountant for dh's current employer. This has been a huge stressor in my life since the end of January when I should have had our W-2 and 1099 forms. I do the taxes here, and they will be much more difficult this year than in the past due to a number of weeks in which dh was working as a self-employed contractor. When we were finally sent the forms sometime in February, most of the numbers were incorrect! There have been two attempts made to correct the errors (after many long and stressful delays) and we still don't have final forms that I can work with to proceed with our tax preparation.

Would you please pray that the accountant gets some corrected final forms to us A.S.A.P. and that I can have the patience and diligence to get the taxes done by April 15 without having a nervous breakdown? (OK, so I am exaggerating about the nervous breakdown, but I'm pregnant and tired and really don't need the hassles or stress.)

Thanks so much.

Irene,
I'm praying. My dh is an independent contractor all the time and this is a familiar tune. You can file for an extension, particularly given the circumstances. Don't let yourself get all wrapped up in that deadline!

Irene, praying that the forms get corrected ASAP. Hmm, St. Jude or St. Matthew (wasn't he the tax collector?). Thinking of you!

I second Elizabeth's suggestion to file for an extension. My dh has his own business and we can never do our personal taxes until the business taxes are completed, which is never on time! We actually bit the bullet a few years back and now have an accountant do it. I know how stressful it all is, though, and my prayers are with you!

Thank you all for your prayers! They must be really efficacious because after all the delays I finally have a W-2 that I can work with. Whew! I should be able to have everything done even on time, although it's a relief that it would be no big deal if we filed for an extension. (I was a bit afraid that might be a red flag to invite an audit if we went that route.) I really appreciate the prayers.
